The Model 102874 Sonic Wind Sensor is one of our sonic anemometers for sale that offers high performance at a moderate cost, rivaling that of traditional mechanical wind sensors.
This high accuracy and fine resolution sonic wind sensor offers the user many years of reliable, maintenance free operation. Developed from experience gained through 35 years of research and design of micrometeorological wind instrumentation, the Model 102784 Sonic Wind Sensor is the future of wind measurement instrumentation. This sensor and sonic anemometer truly sets the standard for wind measurements and each sensor is supplied with a 16-point, NIST-traceable test certificate from our wind tunnel facility.
Standard outputs from the sonic wind sensor are 0-5 VDC and RS-232C compatible digital data representing both wind speed and wind direction. Outputs such as 0–1 or 0–2.5 VDC and SDI-12 or RS-422/485 are also available as factory installed options. Another available option from this sonic anemometer for sale is the factory-applied external heater. This heater will extend the low temperature operating range of the sensor down to minus 50°C and assure trouble free operation during the most severe snow and/or icing conditions.
This sonic wind sensor can easily upgrade your existing mechanical sensor because it has the capability of emulating the output of virtually every wind sensor currently in operation. This eliminates any costly hardware or software changes to your existing data logger or computer data acquisition system, and allows you to start reaping the cost benefits of this maintenance-free sensor as soon as it is installed.
