Davis 6540 is or ham radio operators, including storm chasers and volunteer weather watchers. Connects a Vantage Pro2 console or Weather Envoy to a TNC modem for instant transmission of both your location and the local weather conditions via APRS (Automatic Position Reporting System). Data submitted via APRS turns equipment into an APRS weather station and lets emergency personnel map changing weather conditions in real-time, and also helps the National Weather Service develop improved weather prediction models.

  • With our standard WeatherLink data logger, you choose the logging interval: every 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, or 120 minutes. Depending on the logging interval, you can store up to six months of data before downloading. (Up to four months for Perception, Wizard, or Monitor.) Set the APRS weather station equipment to download automatically every day, or download manually whenever you like. After downloading, use the included software for detailed analysis and graphing, or export the data to most popular spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs.

5 of 5 Great Product!! April 1, 2016
Reviewer: Ronald M. Thomas from Bay Minette, AL United States
I have never put together and installed a wireless weather station before this one.  I found the user manuals easy to read and understand.  I started the assembly of the weather station by 0800 in the morning and by noon, it was installed and working great.  I had already picked out a spot in the yard for the mounting pole and had it ready to go.

Shipping was quick from Scientific Sales and
product was as expected. Easy to set-up and install. Total time for installation and data logger was about 20 minuets. All the Davis Instruments I have worked without any hick-ups. I would recommend this product.

Davis and the website is not clear as to the APRS Weather Link and Weather Link components necessary for operation. If they sell something operational they should include the USB-A to Serial interface and software. This is my only disappointment thus far. Windows Vista (64) and Windows 7(64) require a USB-A interface with the appropriate drivers. No one at Davis ever made that info available. I purchased a 3rd party USB interface with software for $40. Davis should be ashamed of themselves. Everything appears to be working well.  *****(Gerry) Davis Tech Support diligently solved an installment problem that occurred in Vista (64).
