5 of 5 Looks good so far. May 7, 2020
Reviewer: Ralph Cabaniss from NORTHPORT, AL United States
Received new single spoon replacement for original double tipping spoon and installed it.  Not as easy as I hoped but did eventually get it installed.  Hard part was getting old spoon out.  Hasn't rained yet so I can't give report on its performance.

5 of 5 Nice Improvement and Excellent Service April 15, 2020
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Lexington Park, MD United States
I am very happy with this upgrade for my VP2. I was a bit tepid on the installation, as it seemed like I would screw up the old rain mechanism when I was trying to pop it out, but if you just wedge a screwdriver under it really quick, it pops right out. I didnt even need to remove my station from the tripod I have it on and it didnt require any readjustment after installation. The new one just snaps right in place, good to go. Accuracy seems to be on par with other stations in the area after the one rainfall event ive had with it. I do not have a cocorahs rain gauge, so cannot make an onsite comparison unfortunately. Scientific sales was also great. Lowest price I could find for this part, and I received my order a day early, exactly as pictured and well packaged. I will definitely order from them again!

5 of 5 Good Way to Improve Davis VantagePro 2 April 9, 2020
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Willington, CT United States
The replacement for the original design to measure precipitation in the VantagePro 2 does improve the accuracy of measurement (from three episodes of rain since the installation). Today's rainfall measured 0.67 inch, the exact amount in my CoCoRaHS gauge. The prior version uniformly under-measured all types of precipitation, by much more than the 5% Davis claimed. The installation is quite a bit more involved than the Davis YouTube video implies, as one needs to plug in the new cable attached to the replacement part. I needed to remove the entire station from its pole and bring it inside to get the needed room and leverage to install the new part. (Perhaps a person with smaller hands would not need to do that...)
